Kei trucks-ATV vehicles

Kei Mini Trucks of Nashville
additionalkeitruckpic.JPG
Another example of a Kei truck

Kei trucks are made by most of Japan's auto makers, Suburu, Suzuki, Honda, Mitsubishi, etc.  They are imported for ATV use only.  They all have an enclosed cab.  These trucks have 3 cylinder, water cooled gas motors. They're driven by a 550 or 660 cc engine. They are equipped with 2 wheel, 4 wheel or all wheel drive transmissions. They average around 50 mpg and use regular gas!
Since these cannot be imported newer than 2004 models, they are all used vehicles.  Like all used vehicles, they vary in mileage on their odometers, and their options. However, t
hey all have  windshield wipers,  lights, turn signals, a horn, seat belts, door locks, windows which will roll down, and have a radio. All have heaters, and some come with air conditioners.
The trucks are approximately 10 1/2 feet long, and 4 1/2  feet wide.  The bed is approximately 6 1/2 feet long, making it extremely useful for carrying round bales of hay, fence posts, materials, game, equipment, tools, etc.  The bed sides drop down, and can even be removed completely,  allowing the bed to be loaded and unloaded easily, even using pallets.  Also good for over-sized loads.
The hauling capacity allow for the vehicle to pull most trailers, boats, etc., and it's load capability is 700 lbs.
The trucks weigh around 1400 to 1500 lbs. and have 12 inch tires.  Parts are available, and repairs  can be made at most garages. The engines have carburetors, points and plugs so tune ups are not difficult or expensive.
These vehicles are driven from the right hand side of the cab, but it is easy to get used to driving that way.
Remember, these are off-road vehicles and should be driven with care.
